My professional experience and dedicated approach will provide riders with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the equestrian world. I personally work with each client to help them achieve their individual goals; be it riding for leisure or for competition. I use an extremely motivational approach to keep equestrians of all ages fully engaged and excited. In training your equine partner, I will provide the utmost care and attention. We can work together to decide your goals for your horse and how they can be achieved and maintained long term.
A Bit About Carrie
Carrie Agnew, formally Ellis (est.. 09/2021) is based out of the Virginia Beach area, she has been an active rider and competitor for 15+ years. Carrie is extremely passionate about riding and training and believes that the best way to improve is to be an active learner and seize the opportunities around you. She is extremely knowledgeable in the upper level hunter jumper and show jumper worlds with lower level dressage training. She has trained with several of the nations top riders and local successes from the Virginia Beach area. Her devotion is to teaching all her clients the proper techniques in riding and caring for our equine friends. She offers lessons, training, and grooming services.

Boarding Opportunities
Ellis Equestrian Services LLC caters to you and your equine partner. We try to provide the best care and opportunities. We have several different options below. The two main differences are one option allows for the owner to provide their own grain of their choosing on their budget. The other option is that grain is provided by Ellis Equestrian Services LLC. All boarding services include daily care, daily maintenance, hay, shavings, facility amenities, feeding twice a day, and holding for group routine appointments. Boarding does not including buying dewormer, however, Ellis Equestrian Services will administer the dewormer provided.

1 Hour Lessons
$50 per session
During on-site lessons, we will determine your riding level and work off of that to provide you with the proper training to not only reach your goals, but also to help care for our equine friends. Lessons are provided at 1 hour intervals at the Ellis Equestrian Services facility located at 1717 Sanderson Rd, Chesapeake, Virginia. Easily schedule a lesson by contacting Carrie today!
Half Hour Lessons
$35 per session
Half-hour lessons are similar to our one hour lessons. These are great for days that you may not have as much available time and want to just get straight to the riding. Upon your arrival, horses will be all tacked up and ready for you to hop on and go. These lessons are excellent options for fair weather riders, busy scheduled individuals, younger children, and individuals unsure if they are truly interested in riding.
Off-Site Lessons
$65 per session
Off-site lessons can be scheduled for any individual with a useable riding area. They are conducted in the same manner as our 1 hour lessons. This is great for riders who have horses at other facilities so that you don't have to worry about trailering to ride your equine partner.
Horsemanship Lessons
$20 per session
An excellent option for individuals who wish to learn more about the care and maintenance that goes into owning or leasing a horse. This can be individuals who are looking to purchase or lease a horse, those that wish to learn more about horses, or even individuals who are afraid of horses that just want to face their fears and be around some real friendly ones. In addition to this, they can also be an excellent option for when the weather is too poor to ride. These lessons will be 30-minute sessions and will vary based on the individual's knowledge level. Lessons can range from basic grooming to clipping and cleaning a sheath.

Leasing Opportunities
Leasing opportunities are a wonderful and affordable way to expand your time in the saddle. With the leasing options Ellis Equestrian Services LLC provides, you can expand your skills and partnership with your equine friend. Leasing allows for you to get a trial run of how owning a horse will feel but with less time commitment and expense. When leasing an EES horse you have the opportunity to show, ride more, take the horse off property, and create more of a bond with the horse on your time frame. When leasing you will only have the set cost at the beginning of the month with no additional expenses for your equine partner. Leasers have first priority of the horse when it comes to showing and taking lessons. Your lessons are guaranteed to happen on one of your lease days with your equine partner. There is also no long term commitment with the EES leases, they are month to month commitments. If you are not enjoying your lease or life throws a wrench in your plans you can give a 30 day notice to terminate your lease at any given time. Leasing is a fantastic way to expand your ride time in an affordable way!
Leasing payments are due on the 1st of each month. You may terminate your lease at any given time, however, payment is due till your final 30 days are completed. Payments made after the 5th of the month are subject to a late fee. Lessons are not included in your lease and are an additional cost, however, lessons are prorated to $40 per lesson. Lessors must take at least 2 lessons per month.

Partial Lease
$200 per Month
With a partial lease you are guaranteed to ride your equine partner twice a week.
Half Lease
$300 per Month
With a half lease you are guaranteed to ride your equine partner three times a week.
Full Lease
$550 per Month
With a full lease you are guaranteed to ride your equine partner five times a week.
Independent Ride
$30 per Ride
This allows you to just have an independent ride on your own with the horse of your choice. This gives you the opportunity to get more ride time in the saddle when you choice outside of your lessons. This is a nice way to change up your week every once in a while.
You cannot jump during independent rides.

Urban Light aka Urban
Available for Partial or Half Lease
Urban Light is a 7 year old 15.2 1/2 hand off the track thoroughbred (OTTB). He is a floaty mover that excels in the hunter jumper ring. He does enjoy the show jumper ring for a change in scenery. He is a safe kick ride that enjoys jumping. He actively jumps 2'6" courses with the potential of going much higher. He has jumped up to 3'6" but not as a course.
Urban is young and still green but he is extremely honest and realiable. He has the been there, done that mentality. He is extremely kid safe. He is not a spooky horse. He is typically brave and/or willing. He does look at new objects every once in awhile but he is honest and only gets bug eyes. Urban Light is a straight forward ride. He takes care of all riders from all levels. He has a fun little jump with lots of scope. Urban is pretty easy and almost automatic for lead changes.
On the ground Urban is very easy to handle. He is not extremely push and will do what he is told. He can be slightly quirky at times due to his age. However, he is the horse I let 5 year olds lead in and out. He loves attention but in his stall he does not mind his own space. Urban is truly a barn favorite! Urban has a wonder personality and so much potential to eventually be a wonderful show horse. He does currently compete and does extremely well at all the local shows. Urban is as wonderful as his forelock.

Show Opportunities
Join the EES Team Today
Ellis Equestrian Services LLC offers opportunities to allow you to show schooling shows, local shows, and C rated shows. You can own your own horse, be leasing a horse, or rent an EES horse for the day.
Coaching Fee
$30 per show
For local shows only. This fee is for if you would like me to accompany you to a show for ringside coaching. This includes schooling arenas, warmups, and coaching during the competition. If you would like coaching for an away show the fee will be $50 per day.
Horse Rental Fee
$30 per show
For local shows only. If you do not lease or own a horse you can pay the fee to use a horse for the day. If you would like to rent for an away show it will be $50 per day.
Trailering Fee
$25 per show
For local shows only. This includes transportation of your horse to and from the show. For away shows, the trailering fee is $50 plus gas to and from the show. Gas is divided between all the riders with a horse on the trailer.
